    Responsibilities

    + The Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Combat Systems analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, pneumatic tools, and tracked/wheeled vehicles.

    + Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.

    + Welds broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment and may repair, adjust and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.

    + Must be specialized through education and experience in a military combat system which would include Bradley’s, Tanks or Paladins hull and turret operations.

    + Diagnoses the source of trouble and determines the extent of repairs required, replacing worn or broken components on both hull and turret of specific combat systems.

    + Educates and provides oversight to non-specialized mechanics to ensure quality services and repairs.

    + Requires well rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

    Qualifications

    + 12 years of maintenance experience on a required combat system (Bradley, Tank, Paladin).

    + Operator level knowledge of system capabilities and procedures to operate combat systems.

    + Experience in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1.

    + Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

    + Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.

    + Ability to bring and use own tools.

    + High School Diploma / GED.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + 7 years maintenance supervisory experience.

    + US Army MOS 91/63 series qualification.

    + CDL Preferred.

    + ASE Certified Preferred.

    + HVAC EPA Tech Cert 608/609.

    + Valid Driver’s License.

    Physical Demands:

    + Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

    + Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions.

    Pay and Benefits:

    + Hourly Compensation: $26.38.
