Description
Comply with all Federal, State, Local, County, and Navy environmental laws, policies and regulations. Assist in establishing guidelines to protect the health and safety of employees and the community by minimizing/eliminating the risk of environmental pollution. Serve as contractor point of contact for collection of Contractor generated Hazardous Waste (HAZWASTE), preparation for shipping (i.e. palletizing etc.), preparation of all supporting paper for the disposal of Contractor generated HAZWASTE in support of the Daily Flight Schedule.
Promote worksite or product safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry, psychology, and industrial health and safety laws. Includes industrial product safety engineers.
Education
BA/BS from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: engineering, business, logistics, management, math, sciences, and professional aeronautics with 4 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements or, AA/AS from an accredited college or university with 6 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements or, High school graduate or equivalent with 8 plus years in the performance and execution of U.S. Navy requirements.
Experience
Minimum of six years of practical experience within the last ten years in the management, administration, or operation of a safety and occupational health program or specialty, or experience in administrative work concerned with safety and occupational health activities, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of related program function.
Minimum of two years of practical experience within the last four years in the management, administration, or operation of a hazardous materials/waste program.
At least two years of experience shall include receiving, storage, distribution and handling, and disposal of all types of material that may be utilized at the Contractor’s job site.
At least one-year experience in planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating a HAZMAT program for an entire command.
Capabilities/Skills
Capable of performing the functions and be knowledgeable of aviation ground safety and management.
Possess knowledge of the principles, standards, and techniques of safety and occupational health management and have experience in planning, organizing, directing, operating, and evaluating a safety and occupational health program for an entire command.
Knowledgeable of and have experience with applicable Federal, DoD, State, and Local regulations pertaining to the protection of the environment.
Shall have a valid driver's license.
Salary Range - $90K - $105K
