Job Purpose & Scope

Serves as the primary support for all commercial construction loans. Communicates and explains compliance or construction-related issues to the management team to ensure conformity with bank policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

+ Supports the lending staff in the early stages of underwriting by providing financial data to determine borrower’s financial condition and ensures lender understanding of compliance and construction.

+ Assembles proper information prior to the closing of a construction loan.

+ Reviews construction documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policy/procedure.

+ Develops a direct and professional working relationship with the borrower and/or their staff.

+ Orders and reviews third party inspections.

+ Processes funding draw requests.

+ Handles other construction monitoring related duties, as needed.

+ Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.

+ Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

+ Follows Bank policies, procedures, guidelines.

+ Provides assistance to others in department, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

+ Knowledge of commercial construction loan life cycle.

+ Ability to identify challenges, establish a corrective plan of action, and execute the plan with little or no assistance from others.

+ Ability to demonstrate effective time management and organizational skills.

+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing..

+ Ability to work effectively in a team and help others when needed.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, deliver results, and respond quickly and effectively to requests.

+ Ability to adapt well to change.

+ Ability to maintain attention to detail.

+ Ability and willingness to look for opportunities and solutions to improve and promote quality.

+ Ability to work extended hours when necessary to reach a goal.

+ Skill in using computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Basic Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, or related field preferred.

+ Minimum of one (1) year commercial construction monitoring or related work experience required.

+ Experience with AIA documents and other construction related documentation preferred.
