    THE POSITION

    The Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) serves over 500,000 active and retired public-school employees through its defined benefit and defined contribution plans. the agency has nearly 350 employees who serve at varying capacities including: customer service representatives, benefits processers, accountants, and investment and information technology professionals.

     

    This position serves in a technical support role for all end user computing devices, including PC support, administration of devices and enterprise services to manage agency devises.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    Provide support of the agency's PC systems hardware, end-user devices, and software at PSERS headquarters and all regional offices. Assists in agency projects such as hardware upgrades and office relocations. This position will support the PSERS Board during normal and after hour support. Including meetings, board training and the remote audio/video solution.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ; or

    + One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or

    + Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
