    Job Description Summary:

    The Director, Enterprise Financial Planning, Analytics, and Decision Support is responsible for system-level finance efforts, including the development and maintenance of the health system’s capital plan, long-range strategic financial plan and forecasts, establishment of system margin targets and return thresholds, and development of actionable insights to support business decision-making processes. This role collaborates with other senior leaders from corporate areas and operational business units, providing leadership and coordination of organizational financial planning and reporting procedures, profitability analyses, and maintenance of the cost accounting and decision support system. The Director is responsible for directing, developing, and mentoring a team, working cross-functionally to integrate data analysis and business intelligence into the system's strategic decision-making framework. The Director will develop and maintain a network of relationships across the health system.

    Responsibilities And Duties:

    Lead the financial planning and analysis function to support strategic decision-making.

     

    Collaborate with key executives in support of strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital expenditures by leading business case development, including risks and opportunities, simulations, and financial projections.

     

    Accountable for the enterprise financial planning functions, including ensuring the annual operating budget is completed and achieves stated targets and goals, developing and maintaining short-term and long-term forecasting, business plan pro forma development on major initiatives/investments, and partnering with other senior financial and operational leaders to ensure that system-level decisions are fully informed of financial implications.

     

    Prepare and present financial reports and KPIs to senior leaders, including executive steering committees.

     

    Provide leadership and guidance through the management of performance metrics and the measurement reporting process.

     

    Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, including training groups on how to use actionable data to maximize operational efficiency, mitigate compliance risks, and monitor performance.

     

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency, leading organizational change to meet business and financial goals.

     

    Formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization, capitalizing on opportunities and managing risks.

     

    Continually improve financial results by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.

     

    Present financial insights and recommendations to key decision-makers to support strategic decision-making.

     

    Delegate responsibility, clarify expectations, and hold others accountable for achieving results related to their area of responsibility.

     

    Lead in a deliberate and predictable way, operating with transparency and treating sensitive or confidential information appropriately. Develop the ability of others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing ongoing feedback and opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods. Manage and resolve conflicts and disagreements constructively.

     

    Develop and implement strategic and tactical tools, resources, and analytical support to enable financial decision-making for the entire health system.

     

    Make decisions that produce high-quality results by applying technical knowledge, analyzing problems, and calculating risks. Hold self and others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results.

     

    Deliver high-quality services and commit to continuous improvement. Make well-informed, timely decisions, even when data is limited, or solutions produce unfavorable results.

     

    Position the organization for success by identifying new opportunities and building the organization by developing and improving services.

     

    Use cost-benefit thinking to set priorities, monitor expenditures in support of programs and policies, and identify cost-effective approaches.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree (Required)

    Additional Job Description:

    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

    Previous experience in healthcare is preferred.

     

    Demonstrated success working in a matrixed environment.

     

    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with vast experience in financial ratios, amortization tables, budgeting, forecasting, proforma modeling, trending, and return on investment (ROI) analyses.
