CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Technician III.

**Location:** Wilmington, NC

_Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC_

**Pay Rate:** Based on experience

**Work Hours:** M-F 8am-5pm

**Education:** AAS Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS Mechanical Engineering (Equivalent work experience may be considered in rare circumstances.)

Description

+ Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment

+ Provide mechanical discipline support in the construction, installation, debug, troubleshooting, and startup of equipment and automated systems, including hands-on work up to the point of turnover to operations at both domestic and international manufacturing sites

+ Majority of time will be spent on the floor working on equipment

+ Supervise and direct internal maintenance and outside contract trades during all aspects of equipment installation and conversion, including demolition, construction, installation, testing, and debugging of production equipment

Requirements:

• 3+ years of relevant experience

• Ability to work hands-on with equipment using typical hand tools, instruments, and measurement/alignment devices

• Strong focus on job site safety with a proactive safety approach

• Understanding of process variables: flow, temperature, rate, pressure, level

• Ability to determine and recommend the best solution from a series of alternatives within plant guidelines

• Proficient in interpreting drawings and schematics for troubleshooting

• Familiar with process piping system design, including P&IDs

• Thorough understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators

• Strong team player, self-starter, results-oriented, and effective communicator in various professional settings

Required Qualifications

Education

• AAS or BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering

• Equivalent work experience may be considered in rare circumstances

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead or support mechanical installations and startup operations

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed
