    We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

     

    This role sits in the Digital Architecture and Engineering (DAE) organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with engineering, product and business partners from across the company.

     

    The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Cloud Initiatives, Automation & Optimization.

    What You’ll Do: 

    + Assist with designing, building and supporting moderate to complex scripts to automate repeatable production tasks using languages like bash, PowerShell and have basic skills in at least one or more programming language (Python, Go-lang, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js)

    + Support on-call response to critical operational issues; be able to work beyond normal hours and support implementation transition activities and hyper-care shifts as needed.

    + Manage a variety of diverse and sometimes conflicting requests, priorities, and activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to interact with people at all levels, within DX and across the Walt Disney Company to effectively communicate, negotiate, and resolve conflict with and among teams, peers and leaders.

    + Contribute to the sustainment for the platform, ensuring compliance requirements, problem resolution goals, and resiliency/availability goals are met.

    + Support platforms and bring knowledge on systems, network, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, operational excellence and application stability, security, performance, and capacity management, as well as documentation

    + Provide expertise in FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization strategies, to implement governance models which drive accountability and cost awareness. Experience with tagging strategies, resource rightsizing, reservation planning, and usage analysis tools to identify and execute on cost optimization opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.

    + You will be expected to stay up to date with engineering tools, methodologies and emerging technologies so you can make informed recommendations.

    What You Bring: 

    + 5+ years of related work experience

    + Proficient in Agile methodologies

    + Applied understanding of observability principles using relevant tools Strong proficiency with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, and GCP)

    + Demonstrated expertise across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms with a deep understanding of cloud services and capabilities including compute (EC2, VM, GCE), container orchestration (ECS, AKS, GKE), storage solutions, and networking services. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for consistent, automated cloud resource provisioning and management.

    + Strong proficiency with networking and cloud network architecture including, HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS (AWS Route 53), subnetting, VPC, gateways, firewalls, and the ability to formulate architectures and migrations plans related to cloud networking.

    + Strong background in cloud automation and orchestration, with the ability to design and implement scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, and cross-platform scripting to streamline cloud operations and enable self-service capabilities for development teams.

    + Ability to create a cloud architecture from greenfield through production, going through proof of concept, documentation, and building the entire lifecycle of an architecture.

    + Demonstrated experience leading technical projects and ensuring smooth delivery

    + A proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Expertise in dynamic development technologies using Java, NodeJS, Python, and relational databases.

    + Experience in a large-scale business environment

    + Experience managing production container environment

    + Experience operating with a multi-origin hybrid (cloud and on-premise) environment

    Required Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.

    Preferred Education:

    + Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.

    The hiring range for this position in Washington is $145,400 to $195,000 per year and in California is $138,800 to $186,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
