You are a dependable, hard-working colleague that will make a difference for our customers and fellow colleagues every day. Your impact will range from maintaining farm property, equipment, and facilities to caring for farm animals, particularly sheep.

A Day in the Life:

As part of the Microbiology Division team, you will help our customers find solutions and workflows for food, clinical and pharmaceutical environments. You will be responsible for:

+ Feeding animals daily and provide care as needed.

+ Setting up equipment for bleeding, maneuver animals into chutes, bleed animals as needed, and clean area thoroughly.

+ Assisting with general farm upkeep of fence lines, bunk lines, drainage ditches, outbuildings, tractors and other heavy equipment, lawn, as well as minor electrical and plumbing repairs.

+ Providing basic feed and upkeep for animals on a weekend rotation basis.

+ Operating company vehicles and machinery such as tractors, truck, utility vehicles, and loader.

+ Checking farm for safety and security as needed.

+ Using hand-held machinery, such as saws, grinder, drill, welder, torch, and weed eater for routine farm upkeep.

+ Reporting any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist or Senior Management.

Keys to Success:

Education

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

+ Basic exposure to hand tools and equipment from a farming environment.

+ 2 years of related farm experience or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

+ Possess basic knowledge of English, math and the ability to read.

+ Possess good mechanical proficiency.

+ Ability walk up to 2 hours a day.

+ Ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day.

+ Lift up to 25 pounds.
