    What We Are Looking For:

    Ohana Child Development Center provides the highest quality Montessori/RIE based programming for children 4 months to 5 years of age. Ohana Child Development Center serves the families of Bandwidth employees, and is located in the Bandwidth Raleigh NC Headquarters. Ohana is looking for qualified, passionate guides and caregivers who are dedicated to providing respectful, encouraging and cognitively stimulating programming for the children in their care. We are recruiting teachers who are open to learning and continuing education, and who want to work in a collaborative environment (sharing their knowledge and learning from others). Ohana guides will partner with Bandwidth families to provide encouragement and support that best serves the children, and give continuous feedback to families regarding their children’s development and individual needs.

     

    The Ohana Classroom Manager will provide people management for classroom teachers while fostering a supportive and collaborative educational environment.

    What You'll Do:

    + Build a teaching culture of collaboration among the classroom teachers, nurtures mutual respect and builds a strong and cohesive classroom team.

    + Effectively communicates with all levels of school and corporate leadership, parents, and teachers.

    + Supports teachers in acquiring and maintaining accreditations and ensuring Ohana represent best in class standards

    + Directly supports and evaluates classroom teachers and substitutes to ensure high-quality instruction, purposeful individual child support and strong parent communications.

    + Responsible for the performance management of classroom team.

    + Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment wher staff feel valued, heard, and motivated.

    + Follows and teaches others Montessori and/or RIE Pedagogy

    + Build consistency in curriculum among other classroom managers, especially with other grade level classrooms .

    + Ensure Ohana's Principles are delivered to the highest standard. Mentors and coaches other teachers to deliver Ohana principles.

    + Understands school operations and follows policies and procedures. Provides input to the Director on ways the school can operate more effectively, shares feedback and suggestions from the team. Ensures team members understand and follow policies and procedures. Assists in on-boarding new team members to the classroom.

    + Ensures every Bandmate in their role in the school feels empowered

    + Support operating as a unified team with the Corporate Bandwidth team. Understands Bandwidth culture, leadership principles, employee programs to help their team members plug into the broader company and mission.

    + Maintains relationships with key People Services support including payroll, assigned business partner, office services manager, security personnel. Makes introductions and encourages team members to develop these relationships and utilize these resources.

    + Understands budget constraints and opportunities and uses resources wisely. Provides input to the budgeting process based on the classroom's future needs.

    + Complies with Bandwidth's Code of Conduct, protects the company's reputation, and prevents legal and regulatory violations. Ensures direct reports understand and comply with these responsitbiltiies.

    Working Conditions:

    + Works in a normal Child Development Center environment

    + Must be able to lift, move, or hold children with weight up to 60 pounds.

    + Must be able to observe children from various distances.

    + Must be able to lift children from various heights.

    + Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle or feel.

    + Must have the ability to navigate uneven outdoor terrain for limited periods of time in various mild to moderate weather conditions.

    What You Need:

    + Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred, MACTE accredited Montessori certification required.

    + Experience:

    + 6+ years working in a Montessori environment.

    + Montessori/RIE caregiving techniques.

    + Skilled in observation techniques and documentation.

    + Communication skills (oral and written).
