This position is full-time, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4pm

Responsibilities:
+ Identifies and addresses clinical, social, safety, psychological, and spiritual patient needs. Ensures continuity of care through follow-up for ostomy and skin care patients post-discharge. Aligns daily work with national standards (NPUAP, WOCN) and organizational goals for quality and safety.
+ Builds compassionate, healing relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Serves as a clinical expert and role model in wound, ostomy, and continence care.
+ Precepts and mentors students, new staff, and medical trainees with enthusiasm and expertise. Shares research and professional resources to support continuous learning and development.
+ Conducts in-services, lectures, and contributes to unit-based skin care committee development. Identifies and acts on opportunities for clinical and workplace improvement.
+ Applies evidence-based practice and participates in product evaluations for cost-effective care. Demonstrates strong communication, translating patient conditions and care plans effectively. Maintains thorough documentation to support care coordination.
+ Promotes a healthy workplace culture, addressing issues like horizontal violence and impairment. Balances professional and personal responsibilities through prioritization and delegation. Participates in shared governance and serves on or supports hospital-wide councils.
+ Seeks feedback and engages in continuous professional improvement. Analyzes clinical situations to identify learning opportunities and improve care practices.
+ Minimum of 2 years nursing experience. BSN preferred.
+ Wound assessment experience preferred. EpicCare EMR experience preferred.
+ **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
+ UPMC accepted national Wound and Ostomy certification preferred.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Special Skills and Abilities Required Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required.
+ Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physician, non-physician providers. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple and changing priorities.
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
