    Summary

    The Security Training Coordinator has direct responsibility for the administration and management of safety & security related training programs, initiatives and content for The Guthrie Clinic. This position takes a lead role in delivering education both to the security teams and all Guthrie caregivers. The role is further responsible for the assessment, implementation, oversight, and expansion of related educational programs. The Coordinator is self-directed in maintaining competencies; is self-motivated in identifying own strengths and limitations; and seeks to improve areas of weakness. This position will report to the Sr. Director of Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness.

    Experience

    5 years experience within healthcare security or local, state or federal public safety, with at least 2 years in an educational or leadership role.

    Education

    + Valid Drivers' License required

    + High School Diploma or equivalency required. Further educational degree preferred

    + Achieve and maintain certification in CPR and CPI (training provided).

    + Training in First Receiver Decontamination

    + Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800

    + IAHSS Basic Certification

    + NYS DCJS instructor certification preferred

     

    Licenses

     

    NYS security guard license is required.

    Essential Functions

    + Develops, organizes, instructs, and evaluates safety & security-based educational programs for The Guthrie Clinic.

    + Establishes and maintains relationships with all safety & security leaders within Guthrie to foster collaboration on training and educational programs.

    + Assures that all documentation related to security training, certification and compliance is up to date.

    + Creates reports and analyzes data, as requested by leadership.

    + Organizes, conducts, and evaluates continuing education programs for Guthrie Security Officers.

    + Regularly delivers training content to both security caregivers and caregivers across the enterprise.

    + Leads new development of training content that can be deployed electronically, in-person or via other means.

    + Trustworthy with safeguarding confidential information.

    + May be required to work rotating shifts, nights, evenings, days, and on holidays, weekends, or shifts other than that which is considered as the normal work shift. May also be required to work overtime hours.

    + Must act in a courteous and friendly manner toward patients, visitors, caregivers and other external parties.

    + Conducts general Security Officer duties as needed.

    + Responds to and assists with emergencies and disasters throughout the campus.

    + Completes all assigned continuing education and maintains annual competencies. Maintains all required instructor-based certifications.

    + Maintains good communication between security and TGC leaders.

    + Consistently demonstrates good judgment and the ability to assess situations, consider alternatives, and select appropriate course of action. Consults supervisor as appropriate.

    + Complies with requirement for annual physical assessment within appropriate timeframe.

    + Maintains NYS security guard license (NY sites) and valid driver's license good standing.

    Other Duties:

    Other assignments as assigned.

     

    Pay rate ranges from $22.08 - $34.47 per hour.
