Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Incumbent performs the full range of technical accounting support in one or more of the following activities: Assists higher level fiscal office officials in the administration, program support, training, accounting entry and research, and resolving accounting and other fiscal report discrepancies and problem issues primarily pertaining to Unit and Family Readiness Funds (U&FRF) intended to support unit Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) needs including recreational, social and family readiness activities consistent with Financial Accounting Standard Guidance, Marine Corps Orders and other guiding regulations or instructions in effect. Duties include, but are not limited to, entries to allocate quarterly NAF funding into accounting and system subledgers to accounts maintained for active Marine Corps, Navy and Hospital Units based on unit strength information. The Unit Funds Administrator will design, maintain and conduct training for Unit Readiness Coordinators (URC) and Deployment Readiness Coordinators (DRC) as required to maintain the proficiency needed in the utilization of the Unit Funds program benefit. The Unit Funds Administrator will also review for compliance to regulations and process for procurement, payment and accounting entry and reconciliation of all unit requests for advance or reimbursements in the unit¿s utilization of these allocated NAF funds, and all other duties associated with the administration of Unit Funds, including all associated monthly accounting entries and reconciliations. Reviews computer printouts and reconciles with manually/PC maintained journals and supporting documentation. Performs functions and entries required to record in unit subledgers any unit fundraising amounts deposited and perform validation and scheduling functions for all units requesting payments in support of annual USMC Ball celebrations. Performs various administrative tasks to support the Finance department, including documentation, scheduling meetings and maintaining records. Collaborates with other departments to facilitate Finance related initiatives and projects. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Three years of experience in accounting practices and principles. An Associate¿s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field is preferred. Ability to develop practical knowledge of the Marine Corps. Practical knowledge of automated accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of procedures necessary to verify and edit accounting data and input documents necessary to process items correctly in an accounting system. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various administrative tasks efficiently. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all team members and stakeholders. Must have the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues and escalate problems as necessary. Must have the ability to ensure accuracy in documentation and reporting. Must have the willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changes in the Finance landscape. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
