    Summary

    The Creative Director, Motion Design is a visionary leader in the field of motion and digital design, with a focus in live events and experiential, command of the latest visual trends and techniques, and a proven track record of creating impactful brand experiences through motion design. This role requires a blend of creative talent, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of motion design principles and technologies. The ideal candidate will lead projects, and guide and inspire a team of designers to push the boundaries of motion design, creating content that resonates with audiences and elevates our client’s brands. The Sparks Creative Director, Motion Design will lead projects and work with interactive, creative, and content teams to conceive, design, present, and produce cutting-edge concepts, storyboards, motion, and interactive experiences that connect audiences with brands at live and digital events.

     

    This position will support our Creative team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be based out of the following locations:

     

    + Dallas, TX

    + Detroit, MI

    + Philadelphia, PA

    + Fort Wayne, IN

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    + Lead and mentor a team of motion designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

    + Develop creative concepts and oversee the production of motion graphics and animations for a variety of platforms, including live events, digital experiences, and interactive installations

    + Guide project design teams by developing concise creative direction from client and account team inputs

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including interactive designers and producers, 3D creative directors, and account teams, to ensure a cohesive vision and execution

    + Present and pitch creative concepts to clients, effectively communicating the vision and value of the proposed designs

    + Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in motion design, incorporating new ideas and approaches into projects

    + Deliver finished motion files to be incorporated in renderings, mobile apps, and live event and virtual experiences

    + Manage multiple project deliverables under tight deadlines

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + 10+ year(s) professional experience at a creative agency or in house creative team

    + BA/BFA in Graphic design or related field with emphasis in motion

    + Outstanding 2D animation and design sensibility demonstrated through design portfolio/ reel

    + Proven track record in leading large mulit-disciplinary teams

    + Expertise in Adobe CS (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator)

    + Experience with Figma

    + Outstanding hand and digital illustration and character design/ illustration skills

    + Proficiency in one or more 3D motion platforms a plus (Cinema 4D preferred)

    + Proficiency with Redshift a plus

    + Experience with HTML, CSS, Processing, Unity 3d, Unreal, 3D studio, or Sketch up a plus

    + Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft Office

    + Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a team player

    + Ability to operate within a fast-paced environment

    + Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

    Travel Requirements

    Travel up to 25%
