Position Summary...
As Sam’s Club accelerates its transformation to become the leading omnichannel membership warehouse retailer, the role of Group Director, People Partner will be pivotal in bringing this vision to life. This leader will guide the Field People team through a period of bold change—supporting club remodels, enabling new roles and capabilities, and embedding new ways of working that align with our omni-first strategy. This leader will also act as the People Partner for the SVP of Club Operations while leading the Field People team.
This transformation is reshaping how we serve members and support associates. The Group Director will be a strategic partner and operational driver, ensuring our people strategy scales with the business and delivers on our ambition to win the membership warehouse channel.
What you'll do...
Strategic People Planning
+ **Develop People Strategy** : Collaborate with business unit executives (e.g., Operations, Merchandising) to formulate and implement People strategies that align with business objectives and drive organizational success.
+ **Organizational Change** : Utilize deep knowledge of Walmart's People practices influencing and manage organizational change initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment and addressing People implications of various strategies.
+ **People Solutions** : Solve complex business problems through innovative People-based solutions, focusing on strategic planning and advisory.
Talent Management
+ **Talent Strategies** : Develop and implement talent management strategies by analyzing current and future talent needs, designing workforce planning processes, and directing key talent acquisition.
+ **People Initiatives** : Create and monitor action plans for strategic people initiatives, partnering with learning and development, recruiting, and compensation teams to fill talent gaps.
+ **Performance Management** : Oversee performance management processes, identify talent strengths and development needs, and direct initiatives to enhance overall business unit performance.
Operational Excellence
+ **People Practices Implementation** : Direct the implementation of People practices, systems, programs, and policies across diverse business units. Ensure consistent execution, identify and resolve implementation issues, and monitor performance against business plans and company objectives.
+ **Success Measures** : Determine success measures for People programs and policies, ensuring alignment with business unit goals and overall company strategy.
Leadership and Collaboration
+ **Community Engagement** : Lead key community outreach and involvement initiatives, engaging stakeholders in the development and execution of business plans.
+ **Stakeholder Partnerships** : Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships to maximize achievement of business goals, support associate efforts, and foster a collaborative environment.
+ **Mentorship and Development** : Support mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce.
What you'll bring...
+ 15+ years of experience and progressive responsibility in Human Resource function for high growth complex global organization.
+ Passion to work in high profile successful and challenging work environment.
+ Passionate and driven by ownership across all facets of the job requirement including people, business, culture & leadership.
+ Exposure in building effective and scalable processes that are built to sustain growth.
+ Proven ability to influence and interact effectively across all levels of the organization, including at leadership level.
+ Experience working and successfully interacting with cross-functional teams and in complex employee structure.
+ Successful background in working on program management, change management initiatives, employee engagement and organization initiatives.
+ Excellent communication and listening skills; strong team player.
+ Effective contribution towards strategic initiatives and efficient in performing tactical & operational work.
+ Good influencing skills with ability to work collaboratively across teams.
+ Hands on, team player and can-do attitude - high energy, positive, deadline-driven, dependable with an ability to deliver results with aggressive deadlines.
+ Good technical proficiency with HR systems and MS Office tools.
+ Strong reporting, analytical and data interpretation skills.
+ MBA –HR is preferred.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Journalism, Business, or related field and 7 years’ experience in human resources,
communication, journalism, business, or related area OR 9 years’ experience in human resources, communications, business, or related area.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
