Are you a hands-on problem solver with a passion for mechanical work and a strong team spirit? We're looking for a Shop Mechanic who thrives in a high-performance environment and takes pride in delivering top-quality repairs and overhauls.
In this role, you'll work closely with Senior Mechanics to inspect, maintain, and repair components both in our shop and occasionally on-site at marine vessels or customer locations. What You'll Do
Core Responsibilities
+ Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls of mechanical components.
+ Support on-site service work as needed (marine vessels, customer facilities).
+ Contribute to general shop operations: machining, assembly, inventory, receiving, and more.
Technical Duties
+ Follow technical manuals and service procedures.
+ Maintain accurate daily service reports and document inspections and test results.
Safety First
+ Follow all company safety protocols and wear required PPE.
+ Immediately report any incidents, injuries, or safety hazards.
+ Complete all mandatory annual safety training.
Admin & Reporting
+ Submit accurate timecards, expenses, and job-related reports.
+ Maintain personal tool inventory and company-issued equipment.
+ Keep certifications up to date in line with service progression.
Customer-Focused Mindset
+ Deliver high-quality workmanship that reflects pride and professionalism.
+ Represent the company positively and communicate clearly with customers.
+ Resolve questions or concerns in a timely, respectful manner.
Performance & Conduct
+ Complete assignments on time and to standard.
+ Follow company dress code and uphold a professional demeanor at all times.
What We're Looking For
Required:
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ One or more of the following:
+ Associate degree in a technical discipline
+ 3+ years of military experience with relevant mechanical systems
+ 3+ years of industry experience in related mechanical fields
Preferred:
+ Working knowledge of diesel engines
+ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office and written/verbal communication in English
+ Ability to manage time under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position requires access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (U-NNPI) and is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN). Proof of U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship) is required.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
+ Hands-on work with large rotating equipment in industrial environments (marine, gas compression, nuclear).
+ Must be able to lift 35 lbs. regularly and perform physical activities including standing, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.
+ Requires vision acuity including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
