    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    About Versant: Versant is an industry-leading news, sports and entertainment media business that provides content through a portfolio of iconic television networks (MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY and Oxygen) and through complementary digital assets (Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow and SportsEngine).

     

    The Manager/Sr. Manager of Distribution and Sales Analytics sits within the Data, Insights, and Strategic Analytics team, a group whose charter to provide actionable insights that enable decision-making across Versant’s properties. The role will traverse the many distribution avenues that put Versant’s content and products in front of audiences. Areas of focus include analytics for linear networks and digital product carriage deals, preparing and positioning our go-to-market approach, distribution valuation analyses spanning linear and streaming, Versant’s portfolio of FAST channels, and distribution market intelligence to contextualize performance and support our growth.

     

    The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and media industry enthusiast who delights in building for the future while optimizing current distribution channels to drive business value and deliver on consumer needs. An adept collaborator able to develop strong relationships cross functionally and with key stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    + Gather, analyze, and interpret data, identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges across our distribution channels to provide strategic guidance to senior management.

    + Evaluate distribution value and help shape Versant’s positioning in distribution renewals.

    + Prepare thought provoking executive level presentations on the video landscape, informing competitive performance across streaming, linear and FAST.

    + Evaluate impact of distribution, partnerships, or programming changes in collaboration with stakeholders

    + Establish relationships with research teams across the company to share insights and maintain a well-rounded view of the media landscape

    + Be the expert in a wide array of media data sources (3rd, 2nd and 1st party), knowing what is best to use for the task at hand.

    + Evaluate new distribution opportunities, tracking the landscape, proactively generating ideas for leadership.

    + Manage and evolve reporting terms, metrics, and data definitions across all distribution deals, ensuring optimal data sharing practices.

    + Work with the technology team and Data Products to streamline data collection processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

    + Leverage data visualization tools and technologies to present findings in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner for stakeholders at all levels.

    + Continuously improve reporting tools and data collection processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

    + 5+ years of experience in insights, strategy, consulting, or a related function

    + Ability to interpret stakeholder needs and remain focused on business impact while also deeply understanding data and analytical methods

    + Experience crafting compelling PowerPoint presentations that tell meaningful stories with data.

    + Expert Excel skills and experience compiling, transforming, and modeling data in workbooks

    + Expertise in Tableau or comparable data tools

    + Experience working with large datasets and advanced analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Excel).

    + Expertise in Nielsen, Comscore, Adobe or other streaming industry measurement sources

    + Experience leading and managing projects of all sizes with vision and purpose

    + Keen eye for visual design and exceptional attention for detail

    + Revels in and is energized by white spaces

    + Candidates for this role have a strong background in distribution analytics, strategy, media research and measurement tools, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

    Additional Requirements:

    Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

    Sr. Manager Salary Range: $135,000 - $165,000 (bonus-eligible)
