    **Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital** is looking for **Charge Nurses** for both day and night shifts to lead and develop a team of health care professionals in our newly renovated facility at **205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX** .

    Compensation includes:

    + **Salary range $43.00 - $48.00 DOE**

    + Shift Premiums

    As the Charge Nurse, you will supervise nursing staff, ensure high-quality patient care for individuals, and maintain compliance with medical protocols, facility policies, and state/federal regulations. This role delivers comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population while taking on leadership responsibilities and making contributions at the bedside, within the unit, and across service lines.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Supervise and coordinate nursing staff, including scheduling, training, mentoring, and performance evaluations, ensuring adequate staffing to meet patient needs and budgetary controls.

    2. Monitor patient conditions, report changes to physicians and responsible parties, and initiate emergency care or life-saving measures when necessary.

    3. Manage and analyze patient care following admission/readmission; conducting initial assessment for newly admitted or readmitted patients; coordinate discharges, and transfers, ensuring communication with physicians, ancillary services, and other departments.

    4. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders while following strict handling procedures to prevent misuse or diversion.

    5. Respond to medical emergencies and disasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide appropriate care.

    6. Conduct daily rounds, identify safety hazards, and supervise the use of restraints or positioning devices to maximize patient independence.

    7. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, admission/discharge records, and comprehensive assessments.

    8. Participate in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety and quality of care. Maintains cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers.

    9. Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and support staff to uphold high standards of nursing practice in the clinical environment, while adhering to security protocols.

    10. Analyze and interpret a wide range of medical and technical documents, including handwritten notes, correspondence, policies, regulations, procedures, reports, and form completion instructions."

    11. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

     

    It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Texas RN license with three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a hospital setting and one year experience as a Charge Nurse. Required certification and licensure as follows: Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

    Post Hire Requirements:

    Must successfully complete annual requirements to include maintaining licenses, certifications, and passing an annual background check.
