    Cleveland Clinic provides evidence-based clinical care to some of the most critically ill patients in the United States. Caring for adult, pediatric and/or neonatal patient populations, Respiratory Therapy caregivers evaluate, treat and care for patients with a wide range of lung diseases and respiratory disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, COPD and lung cancer.

     

    A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Perform respiratory therapy assessment with the guidance of a Registered Respiratory Therapist.

    + Provide basic respiratory therapy modalities to both adult and pediatric patients.

    + Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Current temporary limited permit to practice respiratory care (RCLP-L1) in the State of Ohio

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Prior experience performing invasive procedures

    + Check off on RCLP L-1 Permit: BiPAP, CPAP, trach care and blood gasses

    **Physical Requirements** :

    + Physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time; having the ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.

    + Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.

    + Requires the ability to lift materials weighing 50 lbs. or more, push wheeled equipment, and assist in the lifting and repositioning of patients.

    + Must have strong hand-eye coordination, full range of body motion and manual finger dexterity to manipulate equipment.

    **Personal Protective Equipment** :

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
