Our Microwave Solutions team in Chandler, AZ designs and manufactures next-generation RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave components and subsystems that power mission-critical systems—from satellite payloads and secure communications to radar and electronic warfare platforms.
We’re seeking a dynamic **Director of Business Development** to lead growth strategy, customer engagement, and new business capture across our RF/Microwave portfolio. This is your opportunity to make an immediate impact—owning strategic accounts, leading capture efforts, and positioning high-performance RF subsystems that support the next generation of defense and space technologies.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead strategic growth across key defense and space customers—radar, SATCOM, EW, and beyond
• Translate technical capability into opportunity—develop customer solutions built on our RF/microwave expertise: up/down converters, synthesizers, MIAs, and space-grade components
• Own customer relationships from initial engagement through capture and proposal—be the face of Crane in the field and at the table
• Build roadmaps and forecasts aligned with customer missions, funding trends, and market dynamics
• Partner with engineering, operations, and executive leadership to shape winning proposals, align capabilities, and deliver results
• Expand market presence—pursue teaming opportunities and drive Crane up the value chain from components to integrated subsystems
• Represent Crane at top-tier industry events, tradeshows, and customer briefings
What You’ll Bring:
• 10+ years in RF/microwave business development, sales, or technical marketing—preferably in defense, aerospace, or space systems
• Deep technical knowledge of RF/microwave architectures and products (e.g., MIAs, frequency synthesis, LNA, mixers, PLLs, etc.)
• Strong industry network and proven track record of multi-million dollar program wins
• Ability to drive strategic conversations with technical and executive audiences alike
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to access export-controlled information under ITAR and EAR regulations
**Eligibility Requirement:** This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
