    Job Description:

    Using excellent customer service skills and exercising thorough knowledge of hospital policies and procedures as they relate to registration, coverage, payment and scheduling; completes the preadmission account for all surgical cases. Monitors and ensures that all functions are completed in an accurate, efficient and timely manner; works with physician’s offices on level of care discrepancies; accountable for meeting department standards for completion of QA on a day-to-day basis by making sure everything checks out on the registration checklist. Follow-up calls to third-party payers for status to confirm coverage.

    Salary Range:

    $18.65 - $24.70 an hour

    Job Requirements:

    Education: High School or G.E.D. required.

     

    Experience: Minimum of 2 years related hospital experience preferred and /or medical office experience

    License/Certification Required: none

    Skills: Medical terminology, extensive knowledge of hospital registration process. General Medical Insurance knowledge is required. Good interpersonal and telephone skills. Detail oriented. Keyboarding 40 wpm. Computer, copier and FAX skills
