Description:
The Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake Michigan, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized **Staffing Coordinator** to manage and oversee staff scheduling. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that our facility is adequately staffed at all times, supporting our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to handle last-minute changes, and experience in healthcare scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop, coordinate, and maintain staff schedules for nursing and caregiving personnel.
+ Ensure proper staffing levels are met to comply with state regulations and facility policies.
+ Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate call-offs, vacations, and staff shortages.
+ Communicate with employees regarding shift assignments, schedule changes, and coverage needs.
+ Maintain accurate records of schedules, attendance, and time-off requests.
+ Collaborate with the nursing department and administration to optimize staffing efficiency.
+ Utilize scheduling software and maintain electronic and paper records.
+ Assist with payroll processing by ensuring accurate timekeeping.
+ Support recruitment efforts by identifying coverage gaps and working with HR on hiring needs.
+ Address scheduling concerns and conflicts professionally and effectively.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred.
+ Previous experience in healthcare scheduling (1-3 years), preferably in a long-term care or nursing home setting.
+ Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
+ Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick staffing adjustments.
+ Knowledge of Indiana state regulations regarding staffing requirements in long-term care facilities is a plus.
