Description:
Performs moderate and high complexity testing in some or all areas of the Laboratory, including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, and Blood Bank. Medical Laboratory Technicians key responsibilities include proper patient and specimen identification, adherence to testing policies and procedures, instrument use and troubleshooting, and computer functions. Work closely with Phlebotomists, Medical Technologists, Nursing, and Physicians to provide patient care
Education:
+ 2 year college program or equivalent experience in Medical Technology / Laboratory Science or equivalent
+ MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW) or eligible or completion of a Military medical laboratory procedures training courses as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. Certification required within 6 months of employment.
