    Description:

    **Department:** Main CT

    **Location:** Ann Arbor, MI

    **Shift available:** Evening shift, start time between 3p-5p M-F, 8-hour shifts, No weekends, No call, No holidays

    **Status available:** Full Time, 40 hours

    Position Purpose:

    Coordinate and supervise activities of technical associates within all modalities of Radiology Imaging Services. Ensure the efficient delivery of imaging services to all patients using the available resources.

     

    Assure compliance with established Hospital, Imaging Services, and regulatory standards as well as adherence to established hospital and imaging services department policies and procedures. Supervise and direct technologists and ancillary personnel in their assigned areas.

     

    Participate in the preparation of budgets for all modalities and for operations within the parameters of that budget.

    What the Supervisor will do:

    + Supervise assigned technical staff and activities to ensure efficient, effective, timely, and continuous operation and delivery of imaging services. Establishes priorities, assigns work, and monitors performance, quality, service delivery and productivity. Assigns and reassigns work based on experience level and workload.

    + Responsible for working with leadership in the preparation of the annual budget for all modalities and responsible for operating within the parameters of that budget.

    + Monitor department operations and personal positions. Member of operating team with regularly presence in the work area throughout the day.

    + Analyze and identify improvement using LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement efforts.

    + Ensure that the job instruction sheets are updated and utilized to provide the most efficient and patient-focused experience.

    + Responsible for the assessment of the operation of equipment and reporting of unresolved issues. Ensure that appropriate equipment is available and in good working order.

    + Work with the lead technologist in all areas to assure a smooth operation and assignment of personnel. Responsible for the full utilization of personnel assigned.

    + Develop protocols for each area assigned and works in conjunction seven with Medical Directors for those areas.

    + Assist in development, revision, and implementation of departmental goals, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with state, federal and accrediting agencies.

    + Monitor adherence to same and initiates corrective action as necessary resolving issues.

    + Responsible for supervising the following activities for work area: interviewing, selection, hire, training/orientation, recommendation of discipline/termination of associates. Evaluate competency, performance, and evaluation process.

    + Attend educational activities and remain current in areas of responsibility through self-study and attendance at seminars.

    + Work with leadership to develop a long range and annual plan for operations for areas of responsibility. Ensure the budget for the assigned work area is maintained and appropriate stewarding of resources is upheld.

    + Work closely with leadership in the writing of justification for replacement capital equipment, maintenance agreements, and planning supply budgets.

    + Supervise and maintain a log of the planned preventative maintenance on the equipment in the assigned areas.

    + Participate with the Medical Director of each modality in the development of an annual quality

    + assurance plan for the assigned areas.

    + Maintaining good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaching conflict in a constructive manner. Helping to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.

    + Maintaining the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, associates, and visitors to St. Joseph Mercy Health System. Discussing patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places.

    + Behaving in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Health System.

    + Assuming responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, as well as assuring personal safety and that of coworkers. Reporting all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    What the Supervisor will need:

    + Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    + Professional level knowledge of imaging technology theories, practices, procedures, and techniques as normally acquired through completion of a Radiography (2 years), Ultrasound (1 year), NM Technology Program or degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

    + Two to three years of progressively increased responsibility in an imaging technology setting; thereby, gaining knowledge of a wide variety techniques, procedures, and solutions; as well as exposure to a variety of equipment.

    + Current registry in at least one Modality of responsibility. This requires maintenance of a valid registration certificate.

    + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
