    Emory Healthcare is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Interventional Radiology team at Emory Healthcare in a new Abdominal Diagnostic Radiology role. Primary worksite for this position will be Emory University Hospital along with associated clinics, however opportunity will be available to cross-train across other areas. The APP will perform fluoroscopic procedures and manage workflow in diagnostic radiology.

     

    In this role the ideal APP candidate will have prior clinical radiology experience as an APP, however open to considering candidates with demonstrated interest and a commitment to traning and developing in a career in radiology. This is an opportunity to join a provider team that is engaged in training and mentoring APP's to a high scope of practice.

     

    Position will be Monday through Friday (5-8's) No weekend, overnight, or call requirements at this time.

    Description

    Opportunity to join a new Abdominal Diagnostic Radiology APP team at Emory University Hospital. Join a team that is committed to training and developing APP's interested in a career in radiology.

     

    Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP).

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    + Assistsin the evaluation and treatment of patients.

    + Documentsthe delivery of care in the individual's medical records.

    + Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.

    + Under the directionandcollaborationof a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including:Hysterosonogram,sonohysterograms, gastrointestinal and genitourinaryfluoroscopic directed procedures,and other specializedminor image-guided therapies.

    + Under the directionand collaborationof a physician, performs inpatient and outpatient consultations, to complete a historical intake,perform physical examinations, direct a plan of care, provide education and informed consent, or offer follow up procedural care.

    + Leads the fluoroscopic care team in daily workflow at busy academic practice including but not limited to providing directives of patient care coordination, supervising residents, and performing diagnostic procedures.

    + Assistsphysicianin diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.Activelyparticipatesin advocacy for a team approach to patient management that includes MD,nursingand tech support staff, referring providers,patientsand family.

    + Orders, schedules and/orperformslaboratory tests and diagnostic procedures such as urinalyses, pregnancy and blood tests, and x-rays. Under the directionand collaborationof a physician,interprets radiographic imagingfor direction of therapeutic interventions.

    + Communicates necessity, preparation,natureandanticipatedeffects of scheduled procedures topatient.

    + In collaboration withphysician,arrangesfor consultations with or referrals to other medical professional or community services.Collaborates and communicates with referring providers toestablishtimelypatient access and interventions.

    + Educatespatienton health habits, self-examinations, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments/treatments, at home medical care, medication and other issues related to medical or health problems.

    + Collaborateswithmanagerto formulateplanfor professionaland APP teamdevelopment.

    + Attends educational in-services asappropriate.

    + Participatesin professional activities and organizations tomaintainknowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.

    + Maintains and updates current,accuratepatient records including medical assessment, interventions, and evaluations.

    + Collects and interprets diagnostic data to implementappropriate carepatient care plans.

    + Prepares statistical reports and analyses of research projects and investigationalprotocols;reports on progress, adverse trends andappropriate conclusionsand recommendations.

    + Trains and teaches other health care professionals including students and residents in techniques and procedures unique to specificsetting.Assistswithonboarding of new hires.

    + Activelyparticipatesonorganizational health services committees.

    + Performs related responsibilities asrequired.

    + On Call weekend responsibilities on a rotationalbasisfor abdominal division.

    **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :

    + Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.

    + Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

    + Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.

    + Minimum of two years' of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.

    + Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.

    **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium)** :20-50lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50lbsmax; Carrying of objects up to 25lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
