    For this role, we're looking for a passionate, team-oriented, and talented Principal Technical Program Manager with experience leading complex technical cross-functional programs working with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing. They will own and deliver on critical SVP and S-Team level goals, insisting on high standards from their partner engineering teams to deliver results.

     

    The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to identify problems and develop solutions. They must have strong analytical capabilities with a process improvement mentality. Cross-team coordination, project management, executive communication, and presentation skills are required.

     

    Key job responsibilities

     

    1) Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects

     

    2) Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans

     

    3) Ascertain the true requirements underlying feature requests; recommend alternative technical approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines

     

    4) Communicate clearly and effectively to executive management on plans, status, and critical issues

    5) Partner as a technical liaison between product and engineering teams

    A day in the life

     

    Over the next three years, you will spearhead an initiative with multiple VPs & SVPs and metamorphose Amazon's Homepage into Customer's Homepage, accentuating relevant part of our store and meeting diverse needs of our customers.

    About the team

    Homepage a Core Shopping Experience for our customer, is a part of the Discovery and App Innovation team in Core Shopping. Our Organization's mission is to inspire and delight customers by helping them discover products they’ll love, tailored to their unique interests and tastes. We help customers discover their next favorite product on Amazon and seek inspiration from their friends and trusted creators (Inspire, Find-on-Amazon, Consult a Friend). We delight shoppers with personalized experiences that create serendipitous product discovery or help them find what they are looking for (Homepage, Navigation). We help them save the products and content they love and use those signals to personalize their shopping experience (Lists). Our experiences create a flywheel: a great Discovery experience drives customer engagement and purchases, engagement and purchases provide signals to make the customer experience more relevant, improving the Discovery experience for customers. Our experiences and frameworks also enable 350+ partner teams across Stores to innovate on behalf of customers.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

     

    - 5+ years of software development experience

     

    - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

     

    - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
