We are seeking an experienced organizational effectiveness leader to lead strategic initiatives during this pivotal time in AI development. As the Principal, Organization Effectiveness, you will be responsible for envisioning and implementing innovative organizational development solutions that empower our employees and elevate our ability to deliver for customers. Your mission will be to leverage the latest research, data, and methodologies to transform how we structure, align, and enable our workforce. You'll be at the forefront of solving unique organizational challenges in one of tech's most transformative fields. Your work will directly impact how we build and scale teams teaching next-generation AI models.
(role is onsite in Seattle or Arlington)
Key job responsibilities
• Design and implement innovative workforce solutions that enable teaching of increasingly complex AI models
• Collaborate with business leaders to define organizational visions, design principles, and strategic roadmaps
• Design scalable, high-impact organizational solutions (structures, roles, processes, capabilities) tailored to evolving business needs
• Continuously enhance solutions by studying internal data, industry trends, and innovative practices
• Partner with leaders to optimize organizational performance, drive high-performing teams, and manage large-scale changes
• Guide senior teams in resolving role ambiguities, process inefficiencies, and other organizational challenges
• Provide insight and direction on evolving the right long term organization design.
• Expertly lead dotted-line, cross-functional teams to maximize performance and achieve goals in ambiguous environments
• Develop high-impact, strategic communications that prioritize the user experience and drive adoption of new ways of working
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years in an HR generalist leadership role or organizational effectiveness role, preferably in a tech or start-up environment
• Proven ability to navigate complexity and drive clarity in ambiguous environments
• Strong analytical skills with experience in strategic workforce planning
• Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication
• Track record of developing innovative HR solutions in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree or MBA in Human Resources Management or related field preferred
• 10+ years in an HR generalist or workforce planning role, preferably in a tech or start-up environment
• Experience supporting tech operations organizations
• Experience working with fast growing, large, global teams
• Global HR experience
• Organizational design and change management experience
• Strong project management experience
• Proven ability to diagnose issues and drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative
• Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high quality document preparation and presentation skills
• Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels in the organization
• Knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment
• Able to travel domestically and internationally, as appropriate
• Ability to work independently, as well as an active member of both business and HR teams
• Resilient and able to thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment with a high level of energy and sense of humor

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
