**Pay Range:** $53.73 - $84.63 per hour
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
Integrates the clinical pharmacy services with the distribution services offered by the Rush Specialty Pharmacy in order to provide total pharmaceutical care that aligns with our policies and procedures. Provides drug information to the pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, other hospital personnel, patients, or to the public. Assists the pharmacy leadership team in departmental performance improvement activities. Implements clinical data process and programs as needed. Assists pharmacy leadership in cost containment activities. Undertakes special assignments that are initiated by the pharmacy managers and director. Serves as staff pharmacist when assigned. Provides pharmaceutical care for all patients of Rush Specialty Pharmacy. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
+ Participate in/coordinate orientation and training of pharmacy personnel for new clinical protocols/medications and assures staff understands any updates to the specialty pharmacy clinical program.
+ Maintain specialty drug list by identifying new additions and ensuring proactive risk assessments are completed and clinical assessments are updated as needed.
+ Maintain the Specialty Medication Management Protocol and its appendices
+ Arrange annual RHT20 temp tester calibrations
+ Conduct temp tests/audits to verify cold chain and controlled room temperature pack outs comply with RSP policies and procedure
+ Update specialty pharmacy shipping pack outs to comply with any ACHC/URAC standards updates and train staff on prescription pack out changes
+ Maintain Supply Chain Testing Logs and data folders
+ Assist with clinical aspects of implementation of new software or systems.
+ Support, develop, and maintain clinical quality reporting and drug utilization review programs including those required by accreditation bodies.
+ Maintain clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars and conferences.
+ Perform within the framework of the RUMC/HDM, L.L.C. policies and procedures.
+ Assist with the strategic implementation of RUSH initiatives as assigned by management.
+ Performs all duties of the staff pharmacist as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications:
• PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience (minimally 3 years)
• Eligible for and achievement of Board Certification within 2 years of hire
• License-Pharmacist-March 31 (even yr)
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified-ACLS-Advance Cardiac Life Support
Preferred Job Qualifications:
• BCPS
• PGY-1, PGY-2 pharmacy residency
• Illinois licensure as a Registered Pharmacist
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift/move 20-30 pounds.
• Ability to sit for 4+ hours at a time.
• Ability to stand while rounding on patients, verifying medications and compounding IVs for up to 4+ hours at a time.
• May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to chemotherapeutic agents.

• Perform data entry and pharmacotherapy analysis
• Use Microsoft Office products
• Work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Set priorities and respond quickly to emergency requests
• Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in work load and work schedule
• Possess strong organizational, business acumen, clinical, and interpersonal skills
• Problem solve, plan and execute plans, and communicate effectively (orally and in writing)
