The Boeing Company is looking for a **Metrology Test & Evaluation Engineer** to join our team in **Seattle, WA** .
As a Metrology Test & Evaluation Engineer, you will play a vital role in the company, working with various Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) across radiofrequency, microwave, and mechanical, and physical metrology parameters. You will engage with outside test equipment vendors, design and build test fixtures, program software, and develop procedures to test new equipment, tackling new and challenging problems every day.

Metrology is the science of measurement and includes all theoretical and practical aspects. Metrology engineering covers the basic understanding of how measurement accuracy and precision impact our ability to make repeatable and reproducible measurements throughout Boeing, the basic knowledge of measurement traceability and the role calibration plays in establishing traceability, and the quality systems that support these processes.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate, Mid-Level and Subject Matter Expert Metrology Test & Evaluation Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Develop solutions to calibration systems problems of moderate scope and impact with a strong focus on RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE
+ Utilizes RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE, processes, and procedures
+ Assists with the design and implementation of calibration systems that address RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical measurement challenges
+ Aids in the development of data processing tools and algorithms with a strong focus on RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE
+ Authors RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical calibration procedures, and conducts measurement uncertainty analyses
+ Calibration data analysis on RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE
+ Conducts calibration data validity using established Metrology practices and procedures
+ RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical measurement uncertainty evaluation and M&TE service interval analysis
+ Gathers and analyzes requirements for RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE calibration
+ Aids with the calibration and certification of RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE
+ Support maintenance of the RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical calibration system
+ Supports maintenance of reference standards, traceability, calibration procedures, and software
+ Develops solutions to emergent RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical measurement requirements during day-to-day activities
+ Automates software solutions for RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE
+ Make routine contact with internal customers and external vendors
+ Support in developing project plans using the principles of project management and performance goals
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
+ 2+ years of experience in Metrology and/or measurement science
+ 2+ years of direct experience with RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical equipment, including working with M&TE
+ 2+ years of experience troubleshooting, analyzing, or designing RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical measurement systems
+ 2+ years of experience in project management and/or technical integration
+ Experience building relationships with internal/external customers to develop RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE solutions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
+ **Level 3** : 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
+ **Level 4** : 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
+ Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), or physics
+ 5+ years of experience in Metrology and/or measurement science
+ 5+ years of direct experience with RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical equipment, including working with M&TE
+ 5+ years of experience developing, verifying, or improving test methods for RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical measurement systems
+ 5+ years of experience in project management and/or technical integration
+ Experience building relationships with internal/external customers to develop RF, high-frequency, microwave, dimensional, and optical M&TE solutions
+ Proven expertise in fault diagnosis, system validation, and calibration of RF and microwave test stations

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $85,850 – $116,150
Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $102,000 – $138,000
Summary Pay Range for Subject Matter Expert level (Level 4): $121,550 – $164,450
