Description We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in LK Forest Park, Washington. This contract position focuses heavily on recruitment processes within structured environments, ensuring compliance with civil service and police department protocols. The role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and the ability to navigate public sector and union-based frameworks effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle recruitment processes for civil service and police department roles, adhering to strict hiring guidelines.
• Screen candidates, schedule interviews, and coordinate logistics with hiring panels to ensure smooth operations.
• Act as a compliance gatekeeper, ensuring all interview questions and procedures align with established rules.
• Organize and maintain candidate files, records, and I-9 documentation to meet regulatory standards.
• Identify and resolve gaps in documentation, following up proactively to ensure compliance.
• Provide onboarding assistance, including coordination of administrative tasks related to recruitment.
• Safeguard sensitive information by maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all HR processes.
• Support continuous improvements in recruitment and file management practices to enhance efficiency. Requirements • Prior experience in union or public sector environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to confidently enforce compliance and uphold hiring process integrity.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on documentation and recordkeeping.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration.
• Knowledge of I-9 processing and general HR compliance regulations.
• Familiarity with HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
• Background in auditing, benefit functions, or customer service is a plus. TalentMatch®
