    Job Description:

    The Senior Decision Scientist for CVS Caremark & CVS Specialty Member Experience and Engagement is a strategic leadership role that combines advanced analytics with consulting expertise to drive transformative improvements in member and payor experiences. This position is designed for a seasoned professional with a strong consulting background, capable of leveraging complex data ecosystems to inform high-level strategic decisions and influence organizational direction.

     

    In this role, the Senior Decision Scientist will lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing member engagement and satisfaction, working closely with senior leadership to align analytical insights with business strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in business analytics, statistical methodologies, and exceptional communication skills, enabling them to craft compelling narratives and present strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of member and payor experiences within CVS through data-driven insights and strategic consulting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Strategic Insight Development:** Identify and prioritize high-impact business opportunities through sophisticated data analysis and consulting methodologies, developing actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives and enhance member engagement.

    + **Independent Analytical Leadership:** Exhibit a self-starter mentality by independently exploring complex data sets, formulating comprehensive analytical work plans, and delivering insights that align with CVS Caremark & CVS Specialty’s strategic objectives.

    + **A/B Testing and Experimentation:** Design, implement, and analyze robust A/B testing programs, iteratively refining hypotheses based on empirical data to optimize Payor & Member Experience & Engagement strategies.

    + **KPI Definition and Monitoring:** Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with portfolio objectives, providing a framework for measuring project success and impact on member engagement.

    + **Compelling Communication:** Effectively communicate analytical findings and strategic recommendations through engaging narratives and visualizations, ensuring that insights resonate with executive stakeholders and drive informed decision-making.

    + **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Lead project execution while collaborating with diverse teams, including marketing, data engineering, and data science, to ensure accurate implementation and alignment with business requirements and strategic goals.

    + **Consultative Approach:** Utilize a consultative mindset to understand client needs, translating complex analytical concepts into actionable strategies that address business challenges and opportunities.

    + **Quality Assurance and Best Practices:** Maintain a strong understanding of coding practices, version control (GIT), documentation standards, and quality assurance best practices to ensure the integrity and reliability of analytical outputs.

    + **Executive Presentations:** Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership and internal stakeholders, influencing decision-making processes and driving alignment with organizational goals.

    Required Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of experience in business analytics, analytical consulting, or a related field, with a proven track record of effectively communicating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

    + 5+ years of professional experience with SQL and Python (including Pandas), demonstrating advanced data manipulation and analysis capabilities.

    + 3+ years of statistical expertise, with hands-on experience in experimental design, A/B testing, and return on investment (ROI) analysis.

    + Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.

    + 3+ years of experience in strategic consulting or on strategy teams within large organizations, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leaders to support strategic decision-making.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences, including C-suite executives.

    + Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a strategic mindset and the ability to think critically about business challenges.

    + Experience in the healthcare industry and/or management consulting, with a deep understanding of industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, and operational challenges.

    + Proficiency in Tableau or similar data visualization tools, along with knowledge of media campaign planning and design.

    + Practical experience with generative AI tools and concepts (e.g., LLM APIs, summarization, copilots), applied thoughtfully to marketing or healthcare use cases

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Medical Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field required.

    + Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline or an MBA from a top-tier institution strongly preferred.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $111,240.00 - $222,480.00

     

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
