    Position Summary

    The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for the upkeep, repair, and performance of facility systems and infrastructure at RayzeBio's radiopharmaceutical manufacturing site in Indianapolis. This position focuses on maintaining essential building utilities and equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations in both cleanroom and non-cleanroom environments.

     

    This technician serves as a first responder for facility-related issues and performs a wide range of troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks across critical utilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, chilled water, compressed air, and emergency power systems. While this role includes occasional support of documentation and commissioning activities, its primary focus is field-based execution and support of building operations.

     

    The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 1st Shift; with occasional overtime or on-call coverage necessary.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems including HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, backup generator, UPS, lighting, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure.

    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment alarms, diagnosing faults and performing repairs or escalating as needed.

    • Conduct routine facility walkthroughs and inspections to identify issues related to safety, performance, and system integrity.

    • Monitor operational status of critical utilities and ensure ongoing compliance with GMP, NRC, and EHS standards.

    • Assist in commissioning of new equipment and facility spaces, supporting start-up and turnover activities as needed.

    • Provide onsite coordination and support to contract service providers performing repairs, calibrations, and scheduled maintenance, ensuring work quality and compliance.

    • Maintain clean and organized mechanical spaces, utility rooms, and facility equipment areas.

    • Participate in safety initiatives, emergency response protocols, and equipment-related drills or testing.

    • Occasionally assist with updates to SOPs, work orders, or CMMS records as part of routine maintenance activities.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification, trade school education, or journeyman-level training in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, etc.) is preferred.

    • Electrical background or certification is highly desired.

    • 3+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience, preferably within pharmaceutical, healthcare, biotech, or other regulated industries.

    • Familiarity with GMP, EHS, and NRC compliance standards.

    • Proficient with diagnostic tools such as volt/ohm meters, current clamps, and signal generators.

    • Experience working with BAS/BMS systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, SAP, or CalMan is a plus.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and system drawings.

    • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

    • Team-oriented, safety-conscious, and dependable with strong communication skills.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach as part of routine duties.

    • Comfortable working in cleanroom attire (gowning required).

    • May occasionally be required to respond to after-hours equipment alarms or facility issues.
