APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY - $87,570.72 to $131,711.04 PAY GRADE: 42
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
The Nevada Department of Corrections is seeking an experience IT Professional 4 located in Carson City. This position is within the infrastructure group of the Nevada Department of Corrections IT Department. Under the direction of the IT Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for providing enterprise support to 15 locations. The primary responsibility of this role is to support and maintain 20 firewalls and over 1,500 network switches and various other IT infrastructure components. Additional responsibilities include managing and supporting enterprise network infrastructure, specifically administering Palo Alto firewalls and Aruba (ProCurve) network switching environments. This will also include configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls, switches, VLANs, and network services to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across multiple sites. The IT Professional 4 will analyze, develop, implement, and modify network systems while maintaining compliance with security best practices, policies, and applicable regulations. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computerscience, management information systems, or closely related field and five years of professional IT experiencerelevant to the duties of the position which may include systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, two years of which were at the advanced journey level or in a supervisory or project management capacity; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and five years of professional IT experience which may include systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, relevant to the duties of the position, two years of which were at the journey level in information security; OR two years of relevant experience as an IT Professional III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
