Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Technician plays a crucial role in supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders by providing direct care and assistance in a therapeutic environment. This position is focused on fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere that encourages recovery and personal growth. The technician will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress. By engaging with clients through various activities and interventions, the technician helps to promote coping strategies and healthy lifestyle choices. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to empower clients on their journey to recovery and improve their overall well-being.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

+ Certification in substance abuse counseling or a related field is preferred.

+ Experience working in a healthcare or social services setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Associate's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.

+ Previous experience in substance abuse treatment or mental health services.

+ Knowledge of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment.

Organizational Expectations:

+ Assist clients in daily living activities and provide support during group and individual therapy sessions.

+ Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and any changes in condition, reporting findings to the treatment team.

+ Implement treatment plans as directed by licensed professionals, ensuring adherence to established protocols.

+ Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities that promote engagement and skill development.

+ Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

Essential Functions:

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting as needed. Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 pounds.
