About the Position
As Director of Clinical Pastoral Education, this ACPE National Faculty Certified Educator oversees the ministry of the CPE programs, takes the lead in establishing new programs of CPE and is responsible for curriculum development and a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to maintenance of ACPE Accreditation.
Pay: Annual salary between $115k and $140k
Key Duties
+ Plans all aspects of the Clinical Pastoral Education program to include recruitment of students, selection and supervision of CPE students, and ACPE accreditation responsibilities.
+ Attends ACPE meetings as appropriate, as well as ACPE national meetings once a year, and other professional meetings, as appropriate, networking and advocating for ministry with elders and CPE in long term care and CCRC settings.
+ Act as member of the Professional Advisory Group for Goodwin House Incorporated, Clinical Pastoral Education program.
+ Develops and maintains relationships with partnering institutions, including Inova Hospital System, Medstar Palliative Care, the Virginia Theological Seminary, Wesley Theological Seminary, and others as opportunity arises.
+ Coordinates with all four of our life plan communities' Spiritual Care Departments, religious services, Spirituality Groups, Support groups and in-service training in order to include CPE students and for their work to be supported.
+ Assists other Departments such as the Social Work, Life Enrichment, Hospice and Nursing in supportive ways that will further their goals and objectives.
+ Develops ways that will further sensitivity and respect to various faith traditions represented by residents and staff. Provides spiritual care with religious and non-religious members of the community, honoring their preferences.
+ Provides spiritual care for residents, their families and team members as scheduled or requested.
Job Requirements
+ Master of Divinity from an Accredited Seminary.
+ ACPE Certified Educator and National Faculty in the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
+ Must have a minimum of five year of pastoral experience preferably in a long term care facility.
+ Must demonstrate social skills to be able to engage in diverse populations.
+ Must be able to relate to seniors who are suffering chronic physical, psychological and spiritual pain.
+ Training and experience in administering a CPE program.
+ Ecclesiastical endorsement.
+ Additional education a plus, particularly in field of grief, loss and aging.
