    Job Summary

    MIKEL, Inc. is seeking a motivated and experienced Systems Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting technical investigations, analyzing system performance, and developing solutions to complex engineering challenges. You will work with a team of engineers to support the development, testing, and maintenance of critical defense systems.

    Responsibilities:

    + Conduct technical investigations into technical issues identified during engineering activities.

    + Investigate technical issues including degraded performance, damaged equipment, requirement deviations.

    + Review technical documentation to ensure consistency with specifications and guidance documentation.

    + Review, develop, adapt, modify, and update Government software development plans and documentation to reflect changes incorporated through specification changes, testing, software trouble reports, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and conversion requirements

    + Model and analyze tactical system and application software to assess faults, performance loss, degraded performance, intermittent operational anomalies, non-recurring faults, requirement deviations, insufficient operability, failed requirements checks, obsolescence, and degraded interface capability.

    + Develop, review, update, and maintain hardware documentation and development plans to reflect changes incorporated through specification changes, testing, ECPs, and conversion requirements.

    + Develop, update, and maintain engineering data packages to support system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

    + Analyze tactical and commercial hardware to assess faults, degraded performance, intermittent operational anomalies, non-recurring faults, requirement deviations, insufficient operability, and failed requirement checks to determine the root cause.

    + Develop, update, and maintain test plans and procedures to facilitate the test & evaluation of SONAR systems at various locations, including shipyards, maritime test vessels, surface ship naval platforms, aboard ships during sea tests, at trainer sites, System Maintenance Facilities, and Combat System Integration Sites (CSIS).

    + Develop test plans and procedures to validate and verify that vulnerabilities in tactical SONAR systems and laboratory infrastructure comply with cybersecurity requirements without degrading system performance.

    + Conduct testing based on Government-approved or GFI test procedures, analyze test results, and document findings in test reports.

    Qualifications:

    + Required:

    + Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance. A SECRET clearance requires United States Citizenship.

    + Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline OR 10-14 years of verifiable experience with the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15.

    + Ability to travel up to 30%.

    + Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

    + Ability to work with little supervision within a larger team.

    + Strong customer service skills.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Preferred:

    + Linux/C+ programming experience.

    + Basic electronics repair and theory experience.
