Director - Application Protection

Duties: Lead a team of security experts focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining technology and process to continuously improve application security, working closely with application development teams as well as other security stakeholders. Establish best-practices and execute critical cyber security operations activities - incident response, vulnerability management, analysis, event management, and recovery. Implement solutions that comply with internal information security policies and regulatory obligations while maintaining business continuity. Negotiate, influence, document, and implement security safeguards and configurations in a complex environment. Define staffing strategy on and offshore. Manage a team of software specialists performing IT Security activities across multiple platforms. Develop and ensure team performs job functions in accordance with individual, departmental and overall company goals. Provide expert direction into the integration of security technology and standards with new and existing applications, while maintaining business objectives. Detect, review, and drive remediation of security threats and vulnerabilities. Present industry trends and recommend strategic direction to decision makers. Manage project, resources, and technology financials and forecasting. Manage vendors and individual consulting engagements as it pertains to delivery of services, prioritization of work and resource requirements.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Security or Cyber Systems (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and eight (8) years of experience performing network security engineering, including analyzing network traffic and identifying anomalies, and analyzing and interpreting security. Special Skills, Other Special Skills or Requirements: Performing people management, including effective communication, problem-solving, planning, mentoring and creating resilient workforce (2 years). Performing technical leadership, including strategic thinking, decision-making, project management, mentoring, and adaptability (4 years). Analyzing traffic patterns and devising ways to prevent attacks, including use of firewall management and configuration; intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS); virtual private networks (VPNs) and secure socket layer (SSL) protocols; and, security information and event management (SIEM) systems. Collaborating with security, architecture and application development teams to enable business without compromising security, availability or timelines. Delivering complex projects in an agile setting.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office/2 days remote

The wage range for applicants for this position is $180,000.00 to $201,900.00 per year. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
