Position Overview:
The Director, Tooling & Warehouse Management for HAECO Americas is responsible for overseeing the management and organization of the warehouse and tooling departments, ensuring efficiency and compliance with aviation standards. The Director will play a critical role in optimizing inventory management, enhancing tooling operations, and supporting the overall maintenance process to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
Essential Job Duties:
+ Provide leadership and direction to warehouse and tooling teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and develop team members to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
+ Oversee the planning, coordination, and monitoring of all inventory activities. Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock management, reduce waste, and prevent stockouts.
+ Manage the tooling department operations, ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained in optimal condition. Coordinate tool calibration, certification, and maintenance schedules, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Ensure all warehouse and tooling operations comply with aviation industry regulations and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance and manage corrective actions as necessary.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse and tooling efficiency. Leverage technology and best practices to streamline operations and reduce costs.
+ Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and proactive problem-solving. Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to systematically reduce inefficiencies and enhance operational effectiveness. Maintain an ongoing assessment of processes and systems, seeking feedback from team members to drive further improvements. Develop and maintain a performance tracking system to monitor progress and identify opportunities for growth.
+ Collaborate with Procurement and Strategic Sourcing to maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and tools with minimal quality defects.
+ Develop and maintain detailed records and reports on inventory levels, tooling maintenance, and departmental performance. Provide regular updates to leadership on operational status and key metrics.
+ Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining operational effectiveness.
+ Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure cohesive operations and support the overall mission of the business.
+ Collaborate with EH&S regarding emergency response plans for warehouse and tooling operations. Ensure readiness to manage crises and minimize operational disruptions.
What you need: (Requirements)
Minimum:
+ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse management, tooling operations, or related roles within the aviation or manufacturing industry.
+ Strong leadership and team management skills.
+ Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
+ In-depth knowledge of inventory management and tooling maintenance practices
+ Familiarity with aviation industry regulations and safety standards
+ Proficient in relevant software and technologies for warehouse management
+ Effective communication and negotiation skills
+ Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
+ Some travel will be required to other facilities, customers, and vendors
Preferred:
+ Master's degree in Logistics or related field
+ Certifications in Aviation, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics (i.e. FAA licenses, APICS CPIM, AMA CPM, CSCP)
