Position Summary:
The Division Vice President of Solid Organ Transplant provides executive oversight and strategic leadership for both transplant centers within the HCA North Texas Division. This role ensures the operational, financial, and clinical success of the transplant programs while driving growth, standardization, and innovation across the system in collaboration with the current facility-based transplant administrators. The position focuses on optimizing transplant operations, advancing research and education, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving patient outcomes while expanding transplant services beyond the current market.
Key Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership & Program Oversight
+ Provide support for transplant operations at Medical City Dallas (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, and Heart), and Medical City Fort Worth (Kidney, Pancreas) in collaboration with existing facility-based Transplant Administrators.
+ Lead integration of culture, policies, and best practices across all Medical City transplant sites to create a unified transplant network within Medical City Healthcare.
+ Drive growth and accessibility by expanding Medical City transplant programs beyond the DFW market.
+ Collaborate with transplant physician leadership and existing Transplant Administrators to develop and implement a three-year strategic plan for all Medical City transplant centers.
+ Partner with physician investigators and clinical leaders to advance research and education in solid organ transplantation.
+ Serve as a resource to the living kidney donor and kidney paired donor programs.
+ Increase brand recognition through expanded footprint on social media platforms, earned media and other marketing strategies.
+ Support Transplant Administrators with the justification for future FTE planning to promote program growth.
+ Ensuring proper leadership is in place to support all arms of the Medical City Transplant Institute (Kidney, Liver, Pancreas and Heart).
+ Work with division analyst to evaluate competitive market trends and opportunities.
Operational & Financial Stewardship
+ Support Transplant Administrators with budgeting and operational planning for transplant services.
+ Develop a financial infrastructure that ensures efficiency, optimizes cost capture for Medicare Cost Reports, and improves reimbursement strategies.
+ Work with Corporate Reimbursement and Managed Care Contracting to improve transplant-related payer contract negotiations and financial models.
+ Reduce unnecessary costs by evaluating lab utilization, high-cost medications, and excessive waste in transplant operations.
+ Create business plan to expand regional program outreach.
Quality, Compliance & Performance Improvement
+ Monitor SRTR CUSUM reports and utilize predictive data sets and tools to identify opportunities for improving patient outcomes and program performance.
+ Support facility MPSC PAIS inquiries and external program reviews.
+ Standardize facility-level policies, job descriptions, and staff competencies across all transplant programs as applicable in conjunction with the Transplant Administrators.
Technology & Data Management
+ Lead the operation an integration strategy of TransChart (HCA transplant database) into other EHR platforms to centralize transplant data and enhance communication.
+ Utilize Executive Transplant & MTQR Reports and other data to ensuring senior and board leadership is informed of key performance indicators in transplant.
+ Act as the primary architect for transplant-related SharePoint and document management systems, facilitating communication and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications and Skills:
+ Extensive leadership experience in solid organ transplantation, healthcare administration, and strategic planning.
+ Proven expertise in financial management, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement.
+ Strong ability to collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and corporate leadership.
+ Experience in data analytics, operational efficiency, and technology-driven solutions.
+ Knowledge of UNOS, OPTN, CMS, and transplant industry trends.
