The Robotics Trade Strategy (RTS) team is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Program Manager who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys tackling large-scale, complex challenges in a fast-paced, startup-like setting. You will be responsible for developing and executing cross-border compliance strategies to meet evolving regulatory requirements. This includes leading the design and implementation of scalable compliance controls, identifying and acting on opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk, and driving both tactical and strategic initiatives. As a single-threaded leader, you'll coordinate efforts across teams, balancing the intricacies of global trade regulations with practical, innovative solutions. Your work will involve regular collaboration with a broad network of partners, including Technology, Procurement, Compliance Operations, Legal, Tax, and Public Policy teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Provide subject matter expertise to manage global trade compliance workflow mechanisms.
• Proactively identify and drive automation, simplification, and process improvement initiatives
•Effectively navigate trade-offs and priorities, ensuring we prioritize the right work to achieve business objectives.
• Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and procedures.
•Work across organizations (engineering, commodity management, transportation, tax, and legal) to drive partner and customer solutions to meet immediate needs and achieve shared objectives. This requires a balance of compliance requirements against business costs, supply chain strategy, delivery timelines, and legal risks.
•Build communications and training plans to ensure all internal and external partners are aware and aligned to trade compliance governance processes.
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 6+ years’ experience commensurate with extensive knowledge of handling imports and/or exports in accordance with foreign government regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
- Ability to apply trade knowledge to business flows, and understand priorities from a financial and tax assessment perspective highly desirable

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
