    THE POSITION

    A remarkable opportunity is on the horizon! The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is searching for a Fiscal Assistant to be part of our team at the Clarks Summit State Hospital (CSSH).     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this role, you will utilize the Guardian Accounting Program (GAP) to execute advanced bookkeeping tasks, which include creating and updating client accounts, and meticulously tracking receipts, disbursements, purchase orders, and interest activities for all asset and liability accounts. This ensures effective management and oversight of client accounts. Your responsibilities will involve applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to the processing and control of financial records and reports, as well as reviewing various financial documents for accuracy, quality, and adherence to established accounting standards. You will operate under the direct supervision of the Guardian Officer, and this position necessitates a solid understanding of advanced bookkeeping and accounting principles to deliver guardianship services to incapacitated clients at the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) and the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) facilities.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

    + You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week, after successful completion of a probationary period . In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clarks Summit.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work;or

    + An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
