A Manager in Training (MT) is when an employee is hired as part of the Inns of Aurora management trainee program, wherein the company provides on-the-job training and experience for individuals who ultimately seek to obtain management positions.

Position purpose:
+ Supports Department Manager and performs management duties when manager is absent or out of office
+ Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training assist with department goals.
+ Assists management with hiring processes and new team member training
+ Assists Department Manager in conducting team meetings to update members on Departmental and Company strategic goals.
+ Develop written processes within the department along with suggestions and ideas to make changes to improve processes.
+ Attend any and all Meetings associated with the department.
+ Assist the Manager in Performance Evaluations, Progressive Discipline, Coaching and Mentoring of Employees
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager in Training doesn’t directly oversee the department, but assists the Department Manager with suggestions, recommendations, and under the Department Manager direction will be involved in coaching, mentoring, corrective discipline and performance evaluation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ · Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ · Excellent Communication Skills · Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel. · Organizational and time-management skills · Decision Making Skills · Hospitality Industry is preferred. · Natural charisma and leadership · Ability to make quick and smart decisions under pressure
Preferences:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
+ Prior work experience in a luxury hospitality property
