    Overview

     

    Through the application of financial assumptions and economic analysis, this position supports management’s decisions related to the way the LG&E & KU Energy (Consolidated), KU and LG&E’s financial targets are developed and attained. Key deliverables include the development of the five-year business plan for LG&E & KU Energy (Consolidated), KU and LG&E and monthly forecast updates. This position supports all aspects of the financial forecast and is critical in providing support for rate case activities when filing with the Kentucky Public Service Commission (three cases at a time: LG&E Electric, LG&E Gas and KU Electric) and with the Virginia Commission for KU – ODP.

    Responsibilities

    + All responsibilities listed are for LGE, KU and LG&E and KU Energy.

    + Assist in the implementation and operation of the consolidated multi-year budget and what-if scenarios by assembling and modeling various medium to high complexity level components for the five-year business plan and monthly forecast updates.

    + Train and gain knowledge of the UI Planner financial system and work with team members to maintain relevant updates to system inputs that drive current and forecasted financial projections.

    + Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency and understanding of plant related items and related depreciation, revenues, financing, taxes, O&M, regulatory mechanisms, and rate case revenue.

    + Responsible for the budget/forecast balance sheet items associated with capital including reg asset/liabilities, regulatory mechanisms and rate case expectations including amounts and timing.

    + Provide assistance with the calculation of the estimated capitalization/rate base percentages for lines of business including forecasting the generation coal/non-coal split often used for debt holders and analysts.

    + Provide rate case filing schedules and support required to file a rate case in any of the Company’s jurisdictions. Additionally, provide support required for data requests and testimony as applicable.

    + Support Strategic Development initiatives and assist with the compilation and preparation of presentations for management.

    + Assist with the review and responses needed for the PPL VP, Investor Relations for quarterly news releases, officer scripts, slides and Q&As as the requests apply to capital.

    + Perform financial and economic analyses and special studies for senior management.

    + Review documentation of investments including Investment Proposals and Cost Evaluation Models for reasonableness and challenge assumptions.

    + Provide input into the decisions regarding maintenance and enhancements to the UIPlanner system and work with PPL counterparts to develop system best practices.Uphold good interpersonal skills for continuous interaction with all levels of management.

    + Identify opportunities for improvement, including reviewing assigned tasks to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.

    + All other duties and periodic special requests as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    Level III

    + Bachelor's Degree in business-related field such as Management, Accounting, marketing, Economics, Finance or engineering.

    + 3+ years of equivalent job knowledge in the areas of financial analysis, forecasting, or budgeting.

    Senior Level

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management, marketing, economics, finance, or related field.

    + Minimum of seven years of experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Advanced degree, CGMA or CPA certification and/or knowledge of UIPlanner

     

    Work Conditions

     

    Normal office environment with remote work flexibility.

    Remote Work

    The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change.
