    $20.00/Hour - Part Time

     

    RESPONSIBLE TO: Registered Dietician

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for the nutritional care of all residents. Directs and supervises dietary functions and personnel

     

    Assists in planning the cycle menu, is responsible for implementing therapeutic diet orders and planning diet extensions for all therapeutic diets. Posts and files daily menus and their changes.

     

    Meets with each resident upon admission. Provides diet instruction as needed. Completes a diet history and nutritional plan of care for each resident. Updates each plan of care quarterly or more often as needed.

     

    Processes diet changes for nursing units. Checks menus to be sure physician ordered diet restrictions are met. Informs residents of diet changes and provides basic instruction as needed and/or as assigned by Registered Dietician

     

    Conducts daily meals rounds and documents all findings.

     

    Is responsible for maintaining awareness of resident’s nutritional status through weights, intake and overall medical chart review. Documents an overall review in each resident’s chart on a quarterly basis or more often as needed.

     

    Conducts nutritional intake studies and analysis supplemental feedings and assures they are provided. Posts and monitors acceptance of nourishments.

     

    Effectively communicate with residents, family, and staff to meet residents’ needs and improve outcomes.

     

    Continued growth and development in the field through current literature and

     

    attendance at workshops and programs authorized by Administration.

     

    Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure resident’s needs are met.

     

    Other related duties that may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor,

     

    department head and/or administrator.

    PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION:

    Graduate of an approved 2 year program with a degree in Nutrition or equivalent experience in Nutrition.

     

    Experience in clinical nutrition preferred.
