Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. This role involves supporting workers' compensation defense cases, managing high volumes of legal tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational abilities and excellent writing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with workers' compensation defense cases by managing legal documentation and processes.

• Perform accurate dictation to draft legal correspondence and other materials.

• Open and close case files while maintaining meticulous records.

• Handle calendaring and docket management to ensure deadlines are met.

• Conduct paper filing and organize files for easy access.

• Manage a large workload while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.

• Utilize Express Scribe for digital dictation and Tabs software for billing purposes.

• Work with Microsoft Office and Adobe tools for document preparation and edits. Requirements • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in workers' compensation defense.

• Proficiency in dictation and transcription tools like Express Scribe.

• Familiarity with Tabs billing software.

• Strong typing skills with excellent speed and accuracy.

• Exceptional writing and communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
