Description

A small, downtown Minneapolis law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. The firm represents property owners, landlords, and property management companies in both residential and commercial real estate matters, with a practice focused on housing law—including evictions, fair housing defense, real estate tax appeals, and advising clients on all aspects of the landlord-tenant relationship.

This position is well-suited for an attorney with at least one year of civil litigation experience who is interested in transitioning into real estate litigation and trial work.

Responsibilities:

+ Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and attending hearings and trials

+ Representing clients in housing court, bankruptcy court, and Minnesota district courts

+ Litigating cases involving evictions, discrimination defense, and property-related disputes

+ Advising clients on landlord-tenant compliance, risk management, and general legal strategy

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Licensed to practice law in Minnesota

+ Minimum 1-2 years of transferable civil litigation experience in a law firm or equivalent legal practice setting

+ Strong writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

+ Interest in trial work and a desire to develop litigation experience in a niche practice area
