Mid-Sized Firm in OC Firm Seeks Employment Attorney – 100% Advisory, NO Litigation LOW BILLABLES

About Firm & Position:

A long-established and highly regarded boutique law firm based in Orange County is hiring an employment attorney to join its growing workplace counsel practice. With a focus on high-end client service and attorney well-being, this firm is known for its collegial culture, low turnover, and structured path to partnership.

This is a rare opportunity for a California employment attorney who wants to focus exclusively on advising clients—no litigation. The role is centered on strategic employment law guidance, policy development, and compliance work for employers operating in California.

Employment Attorney Responsibilities:

+ Provide day-to-day employment law counseling to business clients

+ Draft and revise employee handbooks, policies, and employment-related agreements

+ Advise on compliance with California and federal labor laws, including wage and hour, leaves of absence, harassment prevention, and termination procedures

+ Respond to agency inquiries and guide clients through preventative best practices

+ Monitor regulatory developments and assist clients with HR policy updates

Hours:

+ Low billable requirement: just 120–130 hours/month

Salary:

$120K to $195K+ (DOE)

Bonus opportunities include:

+ Quarterly billable bonuses

+ Annual discretionary performance bonus

Benefits

Medical: Choice of Anthem or Kaiser plans; firm contributes $350/month toward premium (typically covers full base plan for employee + dependents)

Dental: Fully covered by firm for employee

401(k) with discretionary profit sharing

PTO: 10 vacation days in year one

Sick leave: 3 days in year one, increases to 6 after January 1

Requirements

+ Licensed in California and in good standing

+ 4+ year of CA Employment Law Experience
