General Description
This position provides expert-level support to the Department of the Navy’s Procure to Pay (P2P) process improvement initiative. Specific duties include defining inefficiencies, bottlenecks, excessive waste, or customer dissatisfaction with Navy P2P business processes and applying proven process improvement techniques to assist with evolving processes to achieve incremental process improvement.
Duties and responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Navy’s P2P process improvement initiative. They will focus on mapping the current state, evaluating processes, defining future state processes, supporting new process implementation, establish process monitoring procedures, and performing incremental process improvement. Examples of efforts include the following:
+ Perform Business Modeling to document “as-is” and “to-be” business processes to determine the impacts of various process changes.
+ Perform driver-based performance management.
+ Assist with P2P strategic planning.
+ Perform value stream mapping of existing processes.
Specialized Knowledge
The successful candidate will have knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
+ Direct experience and understanding of Lean Methodologies, both at the theory level and through practical application.
+ Knowledge and experience with 5S workplace organization
+ Experience with fishbone process mapping techniques
Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, or Organizational Change Management .
Professional Certifications
None required; however, Lean/Six Sigma certification, BPM certification or other Process Improvement certification a big plus.
Clearance
A secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and retain a secret security clearance.
Experience
3+ years’ experience with process improvement, driver-based performance management, strategic planning and program design.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Other Characteristics (e.g., Personal or Language)
Excellent oral and written, and communication in English. Must be able to work in a team environment with members that include personnel from other companies, Government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members. Must be able to perform with minimal management oversight and have strong time management skills.
Working conditions, including location
On-site at the Pentagon and/or remote.
Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
Salary
130K – 160K Annually
