    OUC - The _Reliable_ One **,** is presently seeking a **Sr Account Representative (Utility Key Accounts)** to join the Customer Experience & Sales division. At OUC, we don’t just work – we’re building a bright future of innovation and transformation for future generations.

     

    We are seeking a results-driven sales professional with exceptional communication and negotiation skills to join our team. This individual will play a key role in delivering value-added, energy-related products, services, and solutions to OUC’s current and prospective commercial customers. The ideal candidate will support OUC’s vision of becoming an innovative solutions leader and the partner of choice by building strong client relationships, identifying business development opportunities, and promoting strategic programs and services.

     

    In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison for OUC’s key commercial and industrial accounts, providing high-level account management, technical support, and customized solutions that align with customer needs and business goals. This includes identifying, developing, and implementing complex, tailored service solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field, from an accredited college or university (In lieu of a degree, equivalent combination of education, training, certification and directly related experience may be substitutable on a 1:1 basis);

    + A minimum of five (5) years of commercial customer service experience to include:

    + A minimum of three (3) years of customer facing/key account representative experience with large commercial and industrial customers/accounts;

    + Certifications for at least one (1) of the following (preferred):

    + Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Certified Business Energy Professional (BEP); or

    + Certified Energy Manager (CEM); or

    + Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM); or

    + U.S. Green Building Council LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP); or

    + LEED Green Associate (LEED GA).

    + Must complete within one (1) year of employment (if no utility experience):

    + APPA Key Accounts certification.

    + Valid Driver’s License.

    Job Purpose:

    + Serve as lead primary point of contact (POC) and subject matter liaison to OUC’s key strategic commercial customer portfolio accounts and large commercial accounts. Establishes and fosters trusted relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. Leads customer related projects, provides technical assistance, and resolves more complex account related concerns. Proactively promotes OUC services and programs to increase sales and revenue growth while providing a concierge level of service.

    Primary Functions:

    + Build and maintain positive relationships and advocacy with OUC’s major commercial and strategic accounts and relevant industry and community stakeholders;

    + Proactively assess and respond to more complex account needs through direct customer contact including calls, site visits, written communications, meetings, and presentations;

    + Analyze complex customer data (operations, consumption, billing)to identify trends and patterns;

    + Advise customers on potential rate impacts, technical solutions, beneficial OUC programs, services, high consumption/demand, and energy/water recommendations;

    + Respond promptly to complex inquiries and proactively report causes of power and water quality events; coordinate follow-up communication; and maintain documentation of customer interactions;

    + Coach, mentor and guide other team members and support personnel;

    + Research, identify, and analyze promotional and sales opportunities and meet sales objectives for OUC services (i.e. lighting, chilled water, EV charging stations, etc.) with both existing and new customer accounts;

    + Conduct complex financial analysis for proposed projects; prepare proposals; and negotiate related agreements/contracts; prepare and process contract documentation; and follow-up to ensure timely delivery of services and accurate billing;

    + Identify new business development opportunities and enhancement of existing OUC services;

    + Stay current on related business, technology, and regulatory trends;

    + Collaborate with developers and contractors to support services provided for commercial customers;

    + Represent OUC at trade and professional association meetings and other events and gain business development leads;

    + Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, technology, regulatory, legal and market dynamics to anticipate customer needs and proactively offer solutions. Engage in frequent face-to- face interaction and relationship building with large, key customer account customers and internal key stakeholders to support customer goals;

    + Develop and execute customized account strategies to meet revenue growth targets, aligning both customer and company objectives;

    + Manage large complex projects;

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Technical Requirements:

    + Demonstrated working knowledge of utility operations not limited to, the following:

    + Electric & water distribution metering infrastructure;

    + Commercial and industrial energy and water efficiency measures and technology;

    + Customer energy and water use purposes, capacity requirements, and rate structures

    + Working with various billing, CRM and other related systems;

    + OUC utility infrastructure that serves customers;

    + Commercial and industrial facilities including applicable energy and water efficiency measures and technologies;

    + Customer service and customer account analysis;

    + Analyzing and presenting sustainability offerings;

    + Drafting service contracts and agreements;

    + Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;

    + Ability to listen actively and address customer needs effectively;

    + Ability to coach, lead and mentor team;

    + Ability to work after normal working hours, weekends, holidays, as needed; occasional travel and attendance of functions after normal working hours;

    + Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, rates, ratios and percentages;

    + Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);

    + Ability to use standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.);

    Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:

    Working Conditions:

    This job involves occasional exposure to some disagreeable elements (dust, heat, fumes, cold, noise, vibration, wetness, etc.) and accidents are improbable other than minor injuries.

    Physical Requirements:

    This job consists of speaking, hearing, typing and writing. This job consists of reading and repetitive motions. Additionally, this job will require driving of a company vehicle. This job may consist of sitting, walking and standing. This job may consist of lifting up to twenty (20) lbs., bending/ stooping, reaching over head and climbing (ladders, hills, stairs, etc.)
