Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Mathematics) position in the Arts & Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta .

Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences, the Full-Time Mathematics Instructor provides instruction to students in General Education Mathematics courses. This is position requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques. This is a non-remote position.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

+ Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.

+ Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.

+ Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills.

+ Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in the Mathematics field

+ Follows approved course syllabus.

+ Completes all reports, records and invoices in a timely manner and maintains an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

+ Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.

+ Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.

+ Attending meetings as required and appropriate.

+ Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations.

+ Assists with student recruitment and job placement.

+ Serves on committees, as needed.

+ Maintains qualifications for employment in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.

+ Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.

+ Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution; and

+ Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Competencies:

+ Must possess and demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.

+ Demonstrate critical thinking, knowledge, judgment, awareness, understanding, memory, and the ability to process information in a clear and effective manner.

+ Have positive attitude, excellent oral and written communication skills, and well- developed interpersonal and organizational skills.

+ Experience with Microsoft Word and Public Speaking.

Minimum Qualifications :

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

+ Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics from an accredited college or university; OR Master’s degree AND at least eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.

+ Two (2) years of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program within the past three (3) years .

Preferred Qualifications :

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:

+ Three (3) or more years of work experience in the field or related field within the past seven (7) years.

+ Two (2) or more years of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program within the past three (3) years.

+ Experience with Blackboard, BANNER, D2L or other LM systems.

* May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community. *
