Summary of Position
Assist Student Success & Persistence ( SSP ) with the implementation of retention/success programs specifically related to student success coaching. Serve as a liaison within SOAR (Success, Orientation, Access and Retention) Student Success Coaching. Support first-time in college and first time at CTC students by providing coaching, support, and referrals. The Student Success Coach is an integral part of ensuring CTC students complete their degrees, certificates and courses in a timely manner, receive support in meeting their personal and professional goals, and feel cared for and supported during their educational journey. This position will work with students upon initial entry to the college through successful completion of their programs and graduation.
Minimum Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education or related field from a nationally, regionally, or identified at a state level accredited institution of higher education. Master’s degree in psychology, post-secondary education, social work, student affairs, student services or related field preferred.
Minimum Required Experience
Two years wage earning experience in human services, education or related field. Experience working one-on-one with individuals, helping them access resources and/or manage and balance life issues is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Skilled in use of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Excel and Access or related database).
+ Excellent verbal and written communication and public speaking/presentation skills.
+ Demonstrated knowledge/skill in student support and educational/vocational support.
+ Must have initiative, creativity, flexibility and resourcefulness in fulfilling work assignments.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively and in a timely manner.
+ Ability to teach and role model skills related to time and stress management, problem-solving, adaptability, relationship-building and collaboration.
Salary 1J/Per Salaried Pay Scale
Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - Mon-Thu 7:30-5:30 Fri 7:30-11:30

Requires occasional weekend & evening work. This position requires on campus work. May require occasional travel.
